Eurasia Window Fair 2023

Last week Tye (our company owner) was spoilt by our uPVC supplier Deceuninck with a trip to Turkey with a few other fabricators from Aust and NZ. See his recount of the trip below.

Flying into Istanbul we visited Eurasia Window Fair, one of the largest window trade expo’s on the planet (about two Jeff’s sheds in size).  An entire room filled with new machines to tempt me into hitting up the bank for another loan…  Deceuninck had a huge stand right at the front entry featuring our new Art series system that will replace our Zendow system at some stage in 2024.  Our group was then taken to dinner by our machinery supplier, Haffner, to a traditional Turkish restaurant that had the best hummus I’ve ever tasted.  A sneaky half day sight-seeing in central Istanbul the following day where we visited the Hagia Sophia, The Grand Bazaar and a 10,000 sqm Roman cistern underneath central Istanbul that is over 1,500 years old, afterwards treated again to a delicious seafood dinner at Bosphorus overlooking the straight.

We then flew to Izmir where Deceuninck have their massive extrusion factory and were lucky enough to get a full tour and a sit down with the R&D department to pitch our ideas to the International head of R&D for Deceuninck and she even had a few surprises for us that we’ll hopefully be able to reveal in the not too distant future.

A fantastic trip, far too much food and booze (Raki bites the day…), amazing sights and history, lots of ideas, now to get to work and implement them!
